Just found out I'm pregnant at 44

Hi - is there anyone out there who's pregnant and alone in their 40's? I'm 44 and have just found out I'm pregnant. This will be my first (and only) child. The father wants me to terminate and it looks like I'm going to be doing this alone.

I've never really thought of myself as being "middle aged" before because I don't feel that way. And neither have I worried too much about what other people think, but all of a sudden I'm terrified of walking my little baby and people commenting on my grandchild!

    Congratualtions that you are pregnant !!! I am 47 and trying to go at it alone with ivf and donar sperm.....There is a good book out called "Single Mothers by Choice"---you can purchase at amazon.com---They also have support groups all over the usa that you can join----Book has lots of helpful information...and you are not really alone..this is when great friends come into the picutre...

    Congrats! I am 43.5 yrs old, 9 weeks pregnant. Nervous because of several miscarriages....so don't know if this one is a keeper or not. Hang in there, don't let the man talk you into terminating.... hope all goes well, lots of healthy pregnancies at our age... we are only "middle aged" reproductively speaking....besides that, 40 is the new 30!

    I agree, you should terminate: him!

    I've had 3 children in my 40s I don't care what anybody says or thinks. Is this middle school? My beautiful children are worth more than some flippant at best, or mean at worse, comment.

    Congratulations! You and your child will treasure each other for life. I hope the dad choses to embrace the love.

    Have any of you had success falling pregnant at the age of 44 without IVF?

    I got pregnant at 43 and had my son at 44. he is beautiful. one oops and i got pregnant. the father was very young, in his 20's that might have helped. i also have an 18 year old.
