His mother got pregnant for the 1st time at 48

Yesterday one of my friends (a builder) told me that his best friend (now in his late 30's) was born when his mother was 48 and his father 57. When conceived, his parents were married for 20 years and were told that they would never have children.
At 48 years old, his mother got pregnant for the very first time (they were not trying), and she had a second boy at age 51.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
