I got married for the second time at age 43, I have two teenagers from my previous marriage. My new husband and I took romantic honeymoon to Mexico. While we were hiking through some ancient ruins, I became very nauseous. We went back to the hotel to rest, but I still didn't feel well for the rest of our trip.

When we got home I took a home pregnancy test just to rule that out -- I didn't think I was pregnant... but much to my surprise it was positive. My husband is thrilled, this baby is his first. I gave birth at age 44 to healthy baby girl, and we so very happy. I hope we can have at least one more!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
