The latest official figures from the Government Statistical Office estimate the resident population for Gibraltar on 31 December 1999 to be 27,204.

Of the 384 births, 23 births (6.0%) occurred in teenage mothers and once again, the youngest mother was 15 years of age. At the other extreme, 12 births (3.1%) occurred in mothers aged 40 years or older, with the oldest mother being 44 years.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
