Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Tuesday, March 11, 2008 | 3 comments

Before I had my retrieval on Monday, he told me that in his office, he has had a 45 year old (had twins), a 46 year old (single birth), and a 47 year old (single birth) - all with their own eggs, and he was very optimistic with me.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.

    Hi Catherine,
I was feeling low last night when I stumbled upon this site.
    Your words are so encouraging.
A month ago I turned 45. I've never been married nor have had children. Having a family is my biggest wish and dream.
I was very encouraged by your Dr.'s comments.I am terrified of negative obgyn's.
I live in Los Angeles, and lately I have been thinking of reteiving egg(s??) and freezing it by itself or as am embryo, for that hopefully soon time, where I can start my family. I am wondering if you could help me by sharing your Dr's name and location? I would love to try this with a positive Dr.
I would love to hear more about you.
Thank you, and all the best to you.
    Dina

    Hi Catherine,

    I turned 45 a month ago.
I have never been married nor had kids. This would be a dream come true.I live in Los Angeles, lately I have been thinking of retrieving whatever healthy egg I have left and freezing it, by itself or as an emryo, for the hopefully around the corner time, when I too can have a family.
I was wondering if you could help me by sharing the name and location of your Dr. I am so tired of "negative" obgyn's and your Dr. seems, positive and wonderful.
    Thank you,
    All the best to you.

  3. Unfortunately the story posted did not include her dr's name or location.

I hope you are able to follow your dream and find a wonderful dr to help you!
