Pregnant with triplets at 49
Working with a Tufts Health Plan nurse case manager, member Carol Penney has healthy triplets. Imagine being a mother of three young daughters, and learning that you are pregnant with triplets at the age of 49.
In her 35th week of pregnancy — on March 28, 2005 — Carol gave birth to the triplets by cesarean section: girls Emily and Brooke, and a boy, Troy.
“I had three healthy, beautiful babies,” she says. “It’s a miracle, and I’m very grateful.”
