Growing babies at 44 is exhausting

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Wednesday, September 02, 2009 | 4 comments

I am 44 years and 9 months, (it's only a number!!!) and have just got a BFP [big fat positive - pregnancy test] using my own eggs on first attempt at IVF [in vitro fertilization] (although have been pregnant x 3 before sterilization 2 years ago).

A long way to go yet, I know, to getting a healthy newborn in my arms again but I'm going in the right direction thanks to CARE Nottingham.

P.S. I would have posted earlier but I was asleep in bed - growing babies at 44 is exhausting!!! LOL

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.

it would be very important for that women who get pregnant after 40.
They have to look once to it.

It might be really troublesome getting pregnant after the age of 40. May be in some cases women don't have choice. But It needs to be avoided if possible.

I just had my third child in April at the age of 45. I thought I was going through menopause.
