50+, delivered beautiful healthy baby girl

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Wednesday, November 16, 2011 | 1 comments

I too am over 40 and have just found out that I am pregnant again. What a shocker!

But exciting as well. Was also a LD nurse ... and have heard all the negatives, but have seen a lot of positives on the Labour floor.

The oldest being 50+ and delivered a beautiful healthy baby girl. I wish all of you God's blessings.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.

when I was 17 my mom was pregnant. That was over 30 years ago. They had no IVF etc. It was all natural and she was a heavy drinker and smoker. Now I would like to have a child at the age of 50. I see no reason why not? Maybe my eggs are gone maybe not. I still have regular periods and I know that I'm in great shape. More women are having children later in life and I want to be one of them. Keep me in your Blessings.
