I went to 3 different RE [reproductive endocrinologist] clinics from age 41-43 (met my husband at 39). The last clinic was Dr Check at Cooper, which was a great experience but found him too late.

We spent all our (out of pocket) money, so 2 years after we stopped all treatments ( many IUI's [Intrauterine Insemination] & 2 IVF [in vitro fertilization] ) we got pregnant from a natural BD [baby dancing = sex].

I was 46, so never give up hope, I had a wonderful pregnancy with no complications, a good amnio result, carried to term. The baby had a high Apgar score.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
