My friend's mom just had a "menopause" baby

My friend's mom just had a "menopause" baby. If you can believe it, this is the second time this has happened to her! My friend is my age (25), and when we were 14 or so, her mom found out that she was unexpectedly pregnant, since she thought she was in menopause.

Now, my friend's little sister is 12, and their mom just gave birth to another "menopause" baby girl! A healthy 8 pounds 14 ounces. What a shock! They found out about her pregnancy when she was already 5 months pregnant. She's in her mid-50's!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
