I had my last baby at 45 years old

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Saturday, June 18, 2011 | 1 comments

I had my last baby three months ago at 45 years old. He's happy, healthy and has brought so much happiness to our family, I can't begin to tell you.

My other two children are 27 and 22 years old and our new baby is the love of their lives. An added bonus is that the practice they're getting taking care of him will insure that they are good, experienced parents when their time comes.

This baby was unplanned, but I like to call him "the icing on the cake".

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
