Healthy baby born at 44 and a half

Sleep - Stock Photo credit: tatlinMy sister-in-law conceived at nearly 43 and her baby was born when she was 43 and 9 months -- I lost count but it was probably their 6th or 7th IVF/ICSI [in vitro fertilization/ Intracytoplasmic sperm injection] attempt (one prior pregnancy ended in a loss).

I conceived at 40+ and my son was born just after my 41st birthday (3rd IVF/ICSI attempt, including one cancelled cycle).

I have a friend who conceived naturally at 43+ and her healthy baby was born when she was 44 and a half.

All stories are with "own eggs". Hope they give you some hope!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
