Turned 47 & found out she was 16w pregnant

She just turned 47 in May and found out last week that she is 16 weeks pregnant. The doctors said that everything looks great and they are going to do the amnio today.

She and her husband have been married since college, tried for a pregnancy all of their married life and gave up two years ago when her periods became irregular. Since she has only had scanty periods, she never event considered that she was pregnant. It was not until she noticed her stomach getting a little thick, that she had a light bulb go off.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
