A good number of moms had children in their mid-40's

Very true about pregnancies in other countries/cultures. In the U.S, Canada and England we are so prone to believing what we read and see on TV and the internet, that we stop believing in our own nature.
My heritage is Latin American ,and women have children in that culture until they reach menopause. My own grandmother and great aunt had all their children AFTER age 35. They were both divorced after that, so god knows if they would have had more.
I am also familiar with a good number of friend's moms in New York City (where I grew up in the 60's and 70's) that had children in their mid forties.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
