I gave birth, at 43, to my daughter Emma

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Monday, December 04, 2006 | 0 comments

My husband and I tried for 2 years and thought we just could not conceive. Just when we had given up, I got pregnant with our son Benjamin.

We hadn't even tried that month and yet, there it was...a + HPT [home pregnancy test]. I was just shy of turning 42. Sadly, we lost our precious son to premature birth @ 22 weeks.

However, God blessed us with another child just 5 short months later and I gave birth, at age 43, in Dec. 2004 to my daughter Emma. can happen.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
