She has a 3y son, conceived naturally at 45

One day, I drove to the field shoot with two other women and one of the teenage girls in the class. The 48 year old has a 3 year old son, conceived naturally at 45. The 16 year old piped up that her mother was 45 when she was born. (She's her mother's only child, though her father has two sons old enough to be her father.)

The 48 year old asked if she ever felt bothered by her mother's age and she said no, almost as though that had never occurred to her. She's not the only kid in school with older parents and "that's just how my family is -- I never thought anything about it."

Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
