I am 44 & pregnant again

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Tuesday, January 30, 2007 | 0 comments

Well, I just wanted to give some hope. I have been pregnant every year in my 40’s. I am 44 and pregnant again. When I was 36, they told me not to get my hopes up because of my age. My husband had a reversal after at least 10 years with a vasectomy.

At first they put him on Clomid to raise his sperm count. I didn’t think I would ever get pregnant. Then I did and lost 2, one at 41 and 42. Then I got pregnant again at 44, and am 21 weeks and the baby is fine. Basically we just did it on our own.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
