My grandmother had 5 children by the time she was about 35. At 48 she was clearly in menopause, but discovered she was pregnant. She didn't even tell anyone she was pregnant because she didn't realize it until she was about 6 months along. Her missed periods were nothing odd and the weight gain she put down to age.
Anyway, she had her last son at 48 years old and he weighed 11lbs 10oz at birth. He is 5 years older than me and 21 years younger than my mother who is the second oldest in the family. So, obviously it is very possible to get pregnant during menopause without the aid of drugs.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
