I am 49, and just found out I am pregnant - and did not try to become pregnant! In fact, I thought I was starting menopause, and that was why my periods stopped. So, now all I can do is hope that all goes well.
Believe me, the hardest part was telling my husband and family (children are in their 20's, teens, and one 11 year old). Although I thought the next baby I'd hold would be a grandchild, I am very excited at this pleasant surprise.
Recent Keyword Searches: pregnant at 44, pregnant at 54 for the first time, women giving birth at age 51, giving birth at 45, what are the chances of a 50 year old woman becoming pregnant naturally?

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
