I am expecting at 45

I did a pregnancy test this week, and it said I was expecting. I'm in shock. I am 45 and my husband 49. We have four boys now, and never dreamed I would be having a baby now.

In fact, I thought I was going through menopause. Our oldest is 22 and youngest is 12. I am scared to death. We were just saying that our boys are old enough now, that we can enjoy going out together again.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
