Pregnant at 46, guess I failed the menopause test

I found out that I was pregnant 4 days ago, and am still in shock. I went off the Pill to get a check for menopause... I guess I failed the menopause test.

I am scared to death! I have 3 children 17, 14, and 11..... I am trying to get over the shock. I wondered how common it is to become pregnant at 46, and what to expect from a pregnancy at this time in my life?

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
