Beautiful baby girl born at 44

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Wednesday, April 30, 2008 | 0 comments

Jackie, 44, Ohio, US
Well, after a very difficult few months of pregnancy, mainly due to the baby being breech and nothing to do with my age, they tried in vain to turn the baby so that I could have a vaginal birth but the baby just wouldn't move, so I was scheduled for my first ever c-section on February 26th, 2006.

On February 11th I went into labour, and within an hour after arriving at the hospital had a beautiful baby girl weighing in at 6lbs 12oz. She is the best baby I have ever had, sleeping 12 hours through the night since she was 6 weeks old (and that's the truth)

The one regret I do have is that the pregnancy was not a good one, and when I found out I was having a c-section I told them to tie my tubes, and now a part of me really wishes I hadn't done that as I would have really loved another one.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
