Expecting our 2nd, due after I turn 46

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Thursday, May 15, 2008 | 0 comments

From Elza: I had my first child at age 42.5, and am now expecting our 2nd which will be due after I turn 46.

My first pregnancy went very well, and I went the full 9 months to the day - labour 12 hours and a healthy 10.5 pound baby boy.

I'm hoping that if I follow the same guidelines I did last time, I will have another healthy baby.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
