I am 7 1/2w pregnant, 47 in October

Much to my astonishment I found out last Friday that I am 7 1/2 weeks pregnant. I'm 46, and I'll be 47 in October. The baby is due November 21.
I'm thrilled, as this is my first pregnancy, and I didn't think I'd ever be able to get pregnant. But I'm also scared, because I've had no morning sickness, and I've read that could be a bad sign that the baby is not firmly attached in the uterus and I may miscarry.
I wondered whether you folks might know whether morning sickness might be less common in older first-time mothers like me? I have a lot of fears about this pregnancy. It is a miracle, though. There's no doubt about that.
Just being able to get pregnant at 46, that is! Please feel free to post this. It may encourage others who are trying to get pregnant.

Hi,
I got pregnant naturally at 43+ and had a perfectly healthy baby girl at 44. I never had any morning sickness. I enjoyed feeling the changes in my body and my baby must have known it. She has been shear joy and is now 2 1/2. Enjoy and good luck!
One more thing.......don't read too much stuff - I hated the popular book on what to expect when expecting. It can make the experience scary and worrisome. Find an OB/Gyn you love, and trust their guidance.

I'm 11 weeks pregnant now and am 51 and I've had no morning sickness either. My sister got pregnant young and never experienced any nausea and had a healthy baby boy. This is my third pregnancy. I got quite sick with my first son and vomited every day. With my second, I felt a little queasy when I smelled certain things, but never actually got sick. Both were healthy. Some women in my church have become so sick they had to be hospitalized for dehydration.
I wouldn't even worry about it. I thank the Lord for feeling so well and consider myself blessed.

I'm reading this column because for some inexplicable reason I find myself at 49 wanting a baby lately. I even dream about babies, lol...I have 4 children, and though I wasn't older at that time (youngest was born when I was 33), I was never sick with any of them. Never had any complications, and the last one was born at home (TOTALLY the best time I had, and the easiest delivery). So for some, morning sickness, or lack thereof, is not at all indicative of anything negative with the developing child. Unless your doctor indicates otherwise, consider your lack of toilet bowl hugging as a blessing ;).
