My mom had her last at 44

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Saturday, May 16, 2009 | 0 comments

My mother had her last child at 44, and is still here enjoying her great-great grandchildren.

I guess my point is none of us are sure of how long we will live. We could be killed in a freak accident, so age has nothing to do with that. You can't live your life being afraid of it.

Once women had large families and stopped having children when their bodies could no longer conceive. I am praying that God will again bless me with another child to add to my wonderful family.

My life has such joy in it, and I wouldn't change anything at all.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
