Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Sunday, August 09, 2009 | 0 comments

I am 44 now was 43 when I found out I was pregnant and I am due in 7 weeks.

Things are good, and have had no problems. Funny thing is, I had horrible pregnancy with my last three, placenta previa, preclampsia, nothing this time.

He is small, but all my kids were. I was like you, the doctors freaked me out. I had my ultrasounds, and did what they told me. I did not get a amnio [amniocentesis], and things are great.

I am 32 weeks now, and have a very active baby. Don’t worry, they say bad things but they told me the chances of Down Syndrome was 1-10. well my test came back 1-1000. I have eggs of a 33 year old.

Look at all the woman now that have babies that are older and are fine.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
