Expecting my first baby at 44

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Wednesday, October 07, 2009 | 0 comments

I will be 44 years old in 9 days and I'm expecting my first baby, a girl, in January. I am 28 weeks now. The pregnancy has (so far) been a dream come true.

I only got sick one time in the beginning, but not since. Have ENJOYED food! haha... minimal heartburn, swelling of feet and ankles, but other than that, all is well. We are very excited. - Gina

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
