Having my 2nd one weeks before I turn 44

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Monday, December 14, 2009 | 0 comments

Follow your heart! I had my first baby at 41 and will be having my second one a few weeks before I turn 44.

We know the risks and are willing to take the chance. Our firstborn is incredible. We didn't need to use fertility methods... but I had been on prenatal vitamins for a long time before conception. God has blessed us.

Having a baby was a dream come true... one I thought I had given up in my 30's. I didn't have the opportunity to be happily married and to be pregnant when I was younger.

Now I am married and extremely happy. You have to decide if it is right for you and your husband... not for everyone else.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
