Grandmother had one at 48

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Tuesday, February 09, 2010 | 1 comments

I am almost 43 and TTC again, after a loss a few weeks ago. It's never easy but it's harder to give up.

You are still young enough to have babies. My grandmother had one at the age of 48!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.

  1. Hi there
Thanks for your message. I'm 48 and still praying for a child. Every once in awhile I think I'm nuts to do it so late so your comment reassured me. Love to talk to your grandmother about it!
    Thanks
