Have 19 year old and 10 year old. Got married at 40 six years ago to husband (33) with none. After 1.5 years not getting pregnant, finally did and went through 2 miscarriages.

At 43 third pregnancy was identical twins naturally. We were so excited when I reached 18 weeks and all looked good.

Got infection from amnio and that was the end. Test came back they were 100% healthy.

Went thru fertility for 10 months. Waste of eggs! Nothing.

We stopped trying because the emotional strain was too much for us both. A month after stopping treatments, got pregnancy naturally and miscarriage at 9 weeks. Got pregnant again not trying 5 months later and miscarriage at 7 weeks.

On my 46th birthday, tested positive for pregnancy! We were not happy... another devastating loss to go thru, we thought. Today is August 19/06 and we're 16 weeks. I'm scared to be happy even though I want to be. Teresa

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
