My doctor is in her 50s, has six year old twins, naturally.

She wasn't even trying to conceive.

She said she ovulated the day before her period.

She also said that at our age, we can spit out eggs at random, and not even show we ovulated on our charts.

She has seen it happen several times.
A really hot night of baby dancing can cause us to ovulate.

Don't give up!

I would continue with acupuncture and herbs, and one of these times you will catch the golden egg.

TODAY'S BOOK SUGGESTION:
Image: Hot Flashes Warm Bottles : First-Time Mothers Over Forty, by Nancy London. Publisher: Celestial Arts; 1 edition (April 19, 2001)Hot Flashes Warm Bottles : First-Time Mothers Over Forty
by Nancy London

-- The first prescriptive and anecdotal guidebook for the multitudes of older moms, and distills the wisdom, insight, and practical advice gathered during her years as a therapist and support group leader.

With tips for renewing physical and sexual energy, parenting after infertility and adoption, balancing career and family, and caring for elderly parents, the personal stories from these older moms are often humorous, sometimes surprising, but always reassuring.

Without exception, the reader will be left with the comforting knowledge that she is not alone on her journey. Hot Flashes fills a much-needed place in the parenting field, at a time when more and more women are embracing motherhood later in life.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.

Thank you for the positive & hopeful story.

I am a little surprised though... "She also said that at our age, we can spit out eggs at random..." .... Really? Is there any literature I can read with regards to this please.

    Thank you

This title is a bit misleading, she conceived when she was 43. 43 is still an inspiration. I love the natural stories. They are the only ones I read on this site. Regarding ovulation, it can happen any time especially in your 40s. I've tried monitoring my cycle with scientific methods and found that only God decides because He Is The Creator. Just ask God and trust in His perfect timing for your family.
