When she was 46 she had the surprise of her life

I had a tag sale over the weekend. A woman in her 50's who lives down the street came over. Even though she was my neighbour for well over a year, I never had a chance to talk with her before.

We got talking about our children, and she told me all of her children were grown "except him" she said as she motioned to her 10 year old son, riding his bike on the road a few yards away from us. She then went on to tell me that when she was 46 she had the surprise of her life, finding out she was pregnant and then having her son.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
