I am 45 & was 12w pregnant

I am 45, and I was 12 weeks pregnant when I had a miscarriage just 2 days ago. I have a 25 year old daughter from a previous marriage.

My husband and I would very much like to have a child together. We're hoping to try again in a couple of months, even though the odds are against my advancing age.

At least we now know that I can get pregnant at this age. It's just a matter of whether the pregnancy will be full term and that the baby will be healthy.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
