They had my sister & I at 50, 52y

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Saturday, February 16, 2008 | 0 comments

Both of my parents were older [50-52 years old] when they had my sister and I were born.

I have an older brother who could have been my father, and I do have nieces and nephews that are older than me. And no, I was NEVER ashamed of my 70 year old parents, and my 103 year old grandparents at my high school graduation.

Where I come from you respect your elders, and you appreciate the wisdom and experiences that have taken them decades to accumulate.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
