Gave birth to 2nd child at 45

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Sunday, April 26, 2009 | 0 comments

A friend of mine (I know her well enough to know she was not "hiding" IVF [in vitro fertilization] or DE [donor egg] from me) conceived her second child naturally at 44 and gave birth at 45. She had one child at 39 and then one miscarriage, then her son.

She did eat lots of nuts and seeds and is very healthy, but did nothing at all in the medical line.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
