Incredibly happy together, pregnant at 44

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Friday, May 22, 2009 | 0 comments

When I finally met the greatest guy on the planet in June (on a 7-day trial of Yahoo personals) we decided to start a family right away. He was the first man I met that wasn't scared to death of the idea. So, here we are 3 months later, still incredibly happy together and pregnant!

We got the first positive last night, and I tested again this morning. No change, still pregnant!

I'm 44. I have no children, just dogs. This will be my first (if it sticks!!). I was on no medication and we did this completely naturally. I'm hypothyroid, successfully on medication and my diet is vegetarian (sometimes chicken if there's no fish). We did nothing special, just banged alot! Maybe it helps that he's 12 years younger than me!

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
