Five months pregnant at 44

It was my cousin's 44th birthday yesterday. I called to wish her a Happy Birthday, she lives in Montreal so I have not seen her since Christmas.

To my surprise she announced to my husband and I that she is five months pregnant!! My cousin has a five year old girl and did not want any more children, so this was a surprise to her also.

She waited to tell the family to make sure everything was fine with the baby. She is really excited about this baby! Why is it the ones that are not trying to get pregnant DO? It's encouraging news for us TTC.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
