Surprise Pregnancy at 44

I got most of you beat, I am 44 and due December 17th.

As this was a surprise pregnancy, I was not a happy camper when I first found out about this pregnancy, and like others, was nervous about what other people would think (like my mom).

I have had nothing but support, ESPECIALLY from my mom.

At first I was terrified of the future because my parents were older when they had me and they were fuddy-duddies, but I realized that having a baby can keep you young!

My five year old definitely keeps me young and most of my friends now are much younger because I hang with people who have kids my son's age.

I often forget about my age.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
