Pregnant at 44, heard the heartbeat

I'm 44 years old, and due around June 23rd. The June board is full of 20-year olds and first-timers, so I don't feel very comfortable there.

My first son is 3 years old. This is my sixth pregnancy in five years. One miscarriage at 17 weeks - Trisomy 21; my son in 2003; three miscarriages at 7-8 weeks since my son was born.

This time, I saw/heard the heartbeat at 6 weeks, and never did with the 3 early miscarriages, so that is a positive.

I have only told my husband, and two good friends at work. One of the OB/gyn nurses actually asked me if I had told my son yet - at 6 weeks pregnant with my history?

Catherine

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
