Count me into the over 45 club...

I'll be less than one week short of 46 years old when my little girl is due to be born in May.

We weren't trying to conceive, and this was quite a shock!

No interventions, only the surprise of it not being in menopause and being positive pregnancy.

Opted out of all the tests except amnio. I did have the amnio.

Positive for T21 (downs).

So far no other issues. Being old gets me an ultrasound every month.

Really great pregnancy so far.

This is my sixth child, and this child will be 11 months younger than my first grandchild.

When I went in for my first OB appointment, my doctor told me there were other patients my age in there.

I had asked if I was the oldest - he said No way!

That made me feel a little better... - Maria

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
