My mom was 44 when she had me and she has had any regrets. I am now 24 and have a beautiful relationship with my parents who are STILL married. They got married later in life after bad relationships, and wanted a baby. Maybe waiting helped me and them. It helped financially too.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.

I am so glad to read this story. I was 42 when I had my daughter and at 49, may be pregnant again. My husband and I were married when I was 39, after many life experiences. My daughter is an intelligent, healthy 7 year old. She often asks why I was older when I had her. I just say "I guess I was lucky!"
