I was 46 when I had my last son

Catherine McDiarmid-Watt | Sunday, December 28, 2008 | 0 comments

I was wanting children when I was younger, but my first of 5 came when I was 32 going on 33. By then I wasn't excited about having kids, and couldn't believe I was finally having my own after being married for 10 years!

After having my son Steven, it wasn't until 5 years later I had my daughter Brittany, then 11 months later I had another son, then after 2 years a son, then when I was 46 years old had my last son.

I had been going to the same doctor all those years, and had had all the tests you go through to have children when I was younger, and was always told that I couldn't have them.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
