I'm 44, about 6 weeks pregnant.

I also have a daughter 23 years, son 22 years, from my former marriage.

I also have a daughter 6 years, my little angel in heaven, and a son 4years old.

I'm waiting for my 1st prenatal visit on April 5TH. I'm going to ask for an ultrasound as soon as possible!

I know I'll be high risk, as I was with my son. As far as the special test go, I refused the amino. I think it's too risky!

I also would like to wish everyone good luck!
My due date is November 11.

TODAY'S BOOK SUGGESTION:
You Make Me Feel Like an Unnatural Woman: Diary of an Older Mother, by Judith Newman. Publisher: Miramax (April 21, 2004)You Make Me Feel Like an Unnatural Woman: Diary of an Older Mother
by Judith Newman

-- Today the number of women having their first child over thirty-five has increased by a bazillion fold, or some equally scary large number, and Newman is the first to write a book that tells what it's really like when a trip to the drugstore entails the purchase of both diaper cream and wrinkle cream; when "getting your shots" means both immunization and Botox.

You Make Me Feel Like an Unnatural Woman
is not only about having children later in life: it's about what happens to a marriage—and to the spirit, when even the most sought-after baby comes.

Wry, warm, and brutally honest, this is the book for any woman—whatever her age—who has awakened at 3AM to the insistent shrieks of her darling and thought: Oh man, I'm too old for this.

About Catherine: I am mom to three grown sons, two grandchildren and two rescue dogs. After years of raising my boys as a single mom, I remarried a wonderful man who had never had a child of his own. Unexpectedly, I found myself pregnant at 49!
Sadly we lost that precious baby at 8 weeks, and decided to try again. Five more losses, turned down for donor egg, foster care and adoption due to my age and losses - we have accepted that there will be no more babies in our house.
